Proposed Haptics-e Paper Format Description

General page layout:

• 8.5" x 11" pages
• 2 columns 3.5625" wide, 0.375" space between columns
• Page numbers at bottom center, 10 pt Times font
• Copyright Haptics-e at top right of each page, 8 pt Times
• Page layout (PDF)
  

Title section on page 1:

• TITLE (all caps), centered 12 pt bold Helvetica
• Author, centered 10 pt bold Helvetica
• Author's title, centered 10 pt Helvetica
• Affiliation, centered 10 pt Helvetica
• Email, centered 10 pt Helvetica
• For multiple authors, use horizontal separation if necessary

Body text:

• 10 pt Times
• Indent first line 1/8"
• Single line spacing
• Justified margin alignment

Headings use 10 pt bold Helvetica

• Level 1: numbered with single digit, text is ALL CAPS
• Level 2: numbered with one decimal place, upper and lower case text
• Level 3: underlined, no numbers, upper and lower case text

Abstract:

• Heading is level 1 without number
• 150 words or less
• Single spacing

Reference:

• Reference citations in body are numbered with square brackets [1]
• Reference section heading is level 1 type without number
• Reference listings have numbers within square brackets [1], last names followed by first and middle initials, title, publication, and date at the end.

Figure text:

• Numbered 10 pt bold Helvetica
• Appearing below figure

Table text:

• Numbered 10 pt bold Helvetica
• Appearing above table

Equations:

• 10 pt Times
• Equation number in parentheses (1)

Footnotes:

• 8 pt Times
• Footnotes appear on the bottom of the page in which they are first used
• Numbered sequentially from the beginning of the paper
• Numbers appear as superscripts in text
• A thin 1/2" long horizontal line separates body text from the footnotes

CORRECTION to EXAMPLE: Do not place "copyright [YEAR] Haptics-e" in the upper right corner. Instead, if paper is accepted, place:
