Subject: Haptics-e News 

News items: 

IMPORTANT: I have a new email address.  Send all email related to
Haptics-e to "blake2@rcs.ee.washington.edu".  I'll be away from 
my email from tomorrow through Nov 10.

1) The WWW page has been upgraded. It is now a draft of a formal
Journal Home Page which lists the Governing Board and Ed. Bd.  Please
check it

2) The most important part of this new page is the "Working Documents"
section.  This has links to the draft policies of the Journal.  It now
contains a draft constitution (drafted by Susan Lederman with inputs
from Vincent Hayward and me) and Intellectual Property Policy (drafted
by me).  It is VERY IMPORTANT that people read these and send comments
to the appropriate people (indicated on the page).  We plan to submit
these soon to the Governing Board.

3) Other News: John Hollerbach's efforts are paying off through a
letter written by George Bekey proposing support for Haptics-e from
IEEE Robotics and Automation Society. This may be discused by their
ADCOM as soon as next month.

Also, we have received our first paper proposal!!  I'll let this person
remain annonymous for now but he expects to have a paper ready for
submittal to Haptics-e early next year. The rapid publication made
possible by Haptics-e is a very attractive feature to this leading
researcher. Let's be ready!
